the 11th story of city heights, a condo complex located at st. james and san pedro street overnight. investigators are not releasing any other information about what led to that fall. >>> a major break in the case that has shaken a local city. police say they made an arrest in the death of a 13-year-old girl. her body was found in a park in fairfield last friday. tonight a 32-year-old man is behind bars. nbc bay area's monte francis joins us with the latest. >> reporter: raj, good evening. fairfield police and the fbi spent part of the day after suspect's house and at his work place which is reportedly a barbershop on oliver road. what is the connection, if any, between the suspect and the 13-year-old victim? officers arrested 32 ye-year-ol anthony lamar jones of fairfield as he was walking along the 1100 block of east tabor avenue in fairfield at about 7:00 this morning. police say he had been under 24-hour surveillance since early on in the investigation. >> we have evidence linking jones to this homicide, and we believe at this time he acted alone and there are no other suspects'

in new york city, up to about a foot of snow. power has been knocked out to nearly 650,000 customers, most of them in massachusetts and rhode island, and more than 1,800 flights canceled so far, that on top of the 3,600 that never took off on friday in advance of the pieces of storm, erica. >> you can understand why this storm is giving snow plows, snow blowers and shovels a real run for their money. also adding to the wintry mess here on the ground, hurricane-force winds in some areas, creating blizzard conditions. out on long island, up to 100 cars stuck for hours, in what is normally a busy expressway. talk about the size of the storm. look at this. it really gives you a sense, as it spreads across the region. these are scenes from states, making its way up the east coast. all that you can make up from the eastern portion of the united states is the tip of florida there, lester. >> yes this is a massive one. coverage across the northeast this morning. reporters standing by in hartford and boston. let me show you what's going on in central park. in many ways, this belies the danger

. that massive nor'easter is way from the coast. downtown, new york city, starting to clear out. you can see the snow wrapping around the east side of long island, boston and hartford, the snow will continue for the next few hours. you can see that lowoff shore in the northeast, convection to the south. those are the storms that helped fire up thundersnow at times and now the system is moving out to nova scotia. if things improve for air travel, the big snowstorm will move away from the coast. 34 degrees in san jose this morning. 32 in concord. 44 in san francisco. not much wind now but as high pressure builds in from the west, you'll notice winds picking up slightly into the north heading into this afternoon. chilly start, 30s and 40s to get the morning started. mid-50s, close to 60 this afternoon. we will see warmer days ahead. the mornings are still going to be chilly with patchy frost. and the seven-day forecast looks unfortunately quite dry. here's the reason why. you get high pressure acting like a wall. sinking air and sinking motion in the atmosphere. you won't get storms or clouds t

view based google is approaching the city of san jose, they need a place for their private jets. they have a new terminal, and plenty of passengers but google is not among them. google is approaching san jose about building annex active terminal, where google and other silicon valley firms could park and service their jets. airport officials say it will generate more than $2 million a year in rent. >> the housing market is showing a bit of a rebound as well as home remodelling. the national home builders association predicts a 20% increase in remodels over the next year. but things are different than the housing boom in 2005, when home owners were remodelling and flipping for profit. this time they are paying with cash and instead of grading to sell. they are staying put. >> their home is their castle and people are remodelling to enjoy. it's a factor with many people getting ideas off of sites like pinterest. >> the most talked about haircut in the country now. the giants were back at at&t park and we think we saw tim lincecum. we did. many of the giants at the park today getti

lights tonight. i had a view of that in the city the past couple of nights as well that looks very spectacular. the camera shaking around. we have winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. it's only giving us a slight windchill tonight. talk about major windchill to the northeast. i have never seen the radar with so much widespread heavy snow than what we're seeing right now. again, historic on many levels as this blizzard could be one for the record books here. maybe not even seen anything this bad since 1978. as we mentioned, for boston, about 3 feet of snow there back into new york 1 to 2 feet with with the winds topping 75 miles per hour. so do expect mayor delays no matter where you're traveling. if it involves a plane, you're likely going to face some sort of travel headache. the storm pushes out by saturday night with sunny weather by sunday. for us back here at home, it's all about this cold weather. also some icy conditions in the road waist. 29 in santa rosa tomorrow morning. 33 in san jose, and also 32 expected in livermore. so let's get you into tomorrow's highs. we are going to ge
